“Kizito’s mum sent him to buy some foodstuff from the market. He was few poles from the market when it started to rain. Because he had no umbrella, he ran home to get one and could not go back again; before he could, it was already late. The family had to starve that night.
A neighbour of theirs was busy cooking, while they were casting their blames on Kizito.
Kizito’s mum had seen her when she left for the market too, without an umbrella. She had left home ten minutes after Kizito.
