Natural hairstyles have been a major beauty trend for African women since the ’90s. And as time goes on, more African women are comfortable carrying their hair in its natural texture. This beautiful evolution is a welcome trend.

There are a thousand and one ways to style natural hair, however, today, we’ll be ranking the top nine easiest styles for this hair type.

Faux Locs

Faux locs are temporary protective styles resembling box braids. They assume the look of dreadlocks and have to be installed by braiding or twisting with a person’s natural hair.

This hairstyle is so beautiful and lasts a reasonable amount of time after being installed. They make number 9 on our list because they are installed and sometimes, get so painful [when installed too tightly].

Box Braids

Box braids are quite common and popular protective style. They are usually installed using special extensions made from kanekelon. Box braids can be made in any size [small, medium, large, and extra large] and colour.

Bantu Knots

For the record, Bantu knots are not actually knots. Rather, they are a cluster of small coiled buns secured tightly.
